Who We Are

Our Executive Director, Carla C. Leone, Esq., M.A., C.A.G.S., is dedicated to fostering the sweep of mindfulness-based practices. She is qualified to provide instruction in a wide variety of mindfulness practices, including Insight Meditation, Calm Meditation, Breath (Concentration) Meditation, Loving-Kindness (Metta) Meditation, and the Still Quiet Place (MBSR-based) curriculum.

After decades of practice and training in Insight (vipassana) Meditation, she obtained a Master of Arts in Mindfulness (2018) from Lesley University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. That deep dive into the practice and application of mindfulness led her to obtain her 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher status with Yoga Alliance. She holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Lesley University’s Graduate School of Education.

She is a certified Radiant Child Family Yoga instructor. She has been formally trained by Dr. Amy Saltzman in the delivery of her Still Quiet Place curriculum, which is a program for children and teenagers based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR training. She has participated in numerous silent retreats at Insight Meditation Society of Barre, MA, as well as at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies, and Eastern Point Retreat House in Gloucester, MA. Her CV is available upon request.

As an attorney, she has helped many children with learning differences obtain an appropriate education through her law practice.

A personal note from Carla:

After decades of abstinence from all forms of intoxicants, and living life on life’s terms through many joys and challenges, I have come to fully understand the central role that mindfulness-based practices, such as yoga and meditation, play in maintaining serenity, courage, and wisdom. I am dedicated to helping young people learn how to avoid the trap of addiction, and helping those who are already suffering from the disease to find a way up and out. Research shows that children with learning differences are at greater risk for getting lost on the path of life. I hope to help provide a guiding light to those children, as well as to the teachers, clinicians, and staff who work with those at risk.

Research has demonstrated that mindfulness helps people to suffer less stress, anxiety, and confusion, and to live with greater ease, calm, and clarity. I invite you to contact me, to discuss how I can help you as an individual, or your organization.
